Block Curriculum
The secondary teacher education curriculum at Samford University consists of four integrated semesters called "blocks," followed by a preprofessional semester, and culminating in semester six with full-time student teaching. Each block includes significant applications of problem-based learning strategies, technology, and clinical experiences. Woven throughout the program are emphases on assessment strategies and planning for grades 6-12 students from diverse backgrounds and with special learning needs.
